Terms of Use

These terms govern access to Lyon County Criminal History. Reading a page, following a link, or using a search feature means you accept them. If you do not agree, stop using the site. The resource is privately operated in Kentucky and does not act for Lyon County, a court, a sheriff, Kentucky State Police, the Administrative Office of the Courts, or any other government agency.

NO FCRA USE. This private site is not a consumer reporting agency and has no government affiliation. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service intended for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

1. What This Website Is

Lyon County Criminal History is an independent reference resource. It does not store official criminal records, issue certified copies, perform authorized background checks, or submit documents. It points readers to custodians such as the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, Lyon Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, AOC FastCheck, Kentucky DOC, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Break federal, Kentucky, or local law
  • Use information to stalk, threaten, harass, or harm a person
  • Use content for employment, housing, lending, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated decision
  • Attempt unauthorized access to a system or account
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated extraction tools
  • Interfere with the site's security, speed, or availability

The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870-.884, governs requests to qualifying public agencies. It does not turn this private site into a records custodian. Kentucky criminal-history dissemination also follows authorized channels under 502 KAR 30:060.

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use site content or linked results to intimidate, stalk, threaten, harass, or discriminate against anyone. That ban is especially important for Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry data, which exists for public safety and awareness. Registry information must not be used for vigilantism or unlawful discrimination, and misuse may lead to criminal or civil consequences.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This site does not prepare credit reports, background reports, or consumer reports and is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. Site information and linked tools may not be used to:

  • Make a hiring or firing decision
  • Evaluate a rental or housing application
  • Set credit terms or insurance eligibility
  • Decide access to a license, permit, benefit, or government program
  • Take any other action governed by the FCRA

Anyone who needs a legally authorized report for a regulated purpose must use the appropriate official Kentucky channel or a qualified FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Lyon County warrant, arrest, charge, conviction, or Kentucky expungement statute applies to a specific person. A licensed Kentucky attorney should address those questions.

14. Severability
